We love the towing industry, and we highly respect everyone that works in it, and we think you should too. Here are 5 reasons why you should:

  1. Towing is in their blood.

Towing is often a family tradition for many top towers in the country. They often start learning the business at a very young age and get hooked for life. They enjoy helping people and the variety of each service call. Towing is more of a lifestyle than a job, and they consider their co-workers to be a part of their family.

  1. Towers are Highway Heroes that help people in different ways each day.

Towers are putting their lives on the line daily with new challenges that they likely haven’t been exposed to before. No two calls are the same, and they always need to be on the top of their game. Tow truck operators/drivers are highway heroes that get people out of terrible situations every day.

  1. Towers are always on call

Towing ain’t no 9 to 5 job; many calls occur in the middle of the night. Just like Batman, It is the towing operator’s job to be on duty 24/7; they are always on call and ready to serve. They often have to leave their families or a fun event to go and save the day.

  1. Towers don’t just tow cars from unauthorized parking spots.

While parking enforcement needs to occur and towers can be critical in enforcing the law. Most towing businesses spend a majority of their time helping people on the roads with roadside assistance, vehicle recovery, lockout services, heavy duty towing, and vehicle hauling. Ask any tower what their favorite part of their job is, and they will likely tell you that it’s helping people out of these tough situations.

  1. Towers put their lives at risk every day.

According to the United States Department of Labor, one tow truck operator dies every six days. Most of these deaths occur because drivers fail to slow down and move over as required by law when emergency vehicles including tow trucks are on the roads. Tow truck drivers are amongst the group of first responders, and like any emergency responder drivers are putting their lives on the line.

Towing is a service that we all need at some point in our lives. Give Tow Truck Operators the respect they deserve. Say thank you and please SLOW DOWN and MOVE OVER when you see them working on the road.
